The Sculpture Garden introduced a new exhibition last summer. The exhibition at Ashridge House ran from JULY - SEPTEMBER 2023. This was a first for Ashridge, the birth of a new destination for sculpture lovers and collectors and was extremely well received by over 15,000 visitors.
Ashridge House is a former royal residence of King Henry VIII, near Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire just 30 miles from central London. The history spans all the way back to the 12th century, and since then Ashridge House has been home to a wide variety of residents. The private Grade II registered historic gardens are an absolute joy, originally designed by Lancelot (Capability) Brown and Humphry Repton, two of the greatest historic landscape gardeners.
The gardens remain intact today and are often referred to as the ‘Garden of Gardens.’
What a marriage this will be of Sculpture and gardens.
We will be showcasing over 40 large sculptures in 190 acres of stupendous grounds. Ashridge House is beginning a new cultural journey, this private venue will enable further public access via The Sculpture Garden for the summer.
